Agony: A Genuine Reply

As I sit here today
Each day
A beautiful day

only

The dark news waits.
Each haunting hour
teasing us.

When I ask about you
no one really knows.
The little hints
speak the death.

The thing we didn't want to happen.
The thing we could never imagine,
would happen to someone like you.

I dare listen to comedy,
Eat my meal,
And enjoy my fortunate life.
While you ache in pain each day

What could have been different?

I want to cry for you.
Bring you in
Have the chat
That changes outlook.

All I hope is that one day
I'll run into you again.
Whether known
or veiled in the name
and your agony
would be gone.

No matter what
these ungrateful children
did to you,

Please

Continue your passions
Your teachings
Your kindness
Your ambitions
Your coffee

Your spirit will never leave your classroom.
Your brew forever stained.

Sugar everywhere

With literature scrawled
line by line
All over the wall.

As for the contents
of an ambitious teachers pocket.
No one will know
Except the wind that stole you
Out of the window.
Out of our lives.
